– Iran, Nigeria sign nine MoUs to boost economic, trade ties
Iran and Nigeria signed nine memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to expand their economic and trade ties. Local media reports said that the MoUs covered various fields, including culture, tourism, petroleum, agriculture, sports and trade, Press TV reported.
They said that the agreements have been reached as part of a sixth round of intergovernmental committee meetings held between officials of Iran and Nigeria.
– India, Iran reaffirm cooperation on Chabahar port
India and Iran on Thursday reaffirmed their commitment to continue their cooperation on the development of the Chabahar port as a transit hub for the region including Central Asia and said delegates from the two counties will meet soon to address operational aspects of the key port.
This commitment to continuing cooperation on the Chabahar port was made during Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian's visit to India. This is the first visit of Amir-Abdollahian who arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday, since he assumed office in August 2021.

The Saljuqs (r. 1055-1194) entered history in the tenth century as a clan of nomadic Turks in Central Asia, recently converted to Islam. By degrees, they infiltrated the eastern Islamic world en masse, defeating the Ghaznavids and Buyids in a grand sweep westward which brought them to the core metropolis of Islam, Baghdad, in 1055.
Once securely established there, with an enfeebled caliphate under their thumb, they quickly reached the Mediterranean but stopped short of challenging Fatimid Isma’ili Shia rule in Egypt. Thus, for a time, they were masters of the Islamic east, a feat embodied in the name of their most successful ruler, Sultan Malikshah, which conjoined the royal titles of the Turks, Arabs and Persians.

--Iranian Photographers Honored at Canadian Exhibition
The first edition of the George Barker International Exhibition of Photography in Canada has awarded several Iranian photographers.
The organizers announced that the jury presented the Best Author Award -- FIAP Light Blue Badge and the FIAP Gold Medal in the Open Color Section to Mehdi Zabolabbasi’s ‘Gulbahar’.
The photo depicts an Afghan woman clad in a burka passing through an alley with colorful buildings.
-- TPOI Plans to Boost Trade Ties With African Countries
The deputy head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) for Export Markets Development Affairs Seyyed Ahmad-Reza Alaei Tabatabaei has said that the TPOI is planning to boost trade ties with African states using a barter mechanism.
Alaei Tabatabaei said that equipping exports infrastructures and strengthening active presence of commercial envoys in African continent have been put atop agenda of the TPOI.
Turning to the TOPI programs to take advantage of trade and economic capabilities of African Continent during the 13th government under President Raisi, he said that bolstering logistics infrastructures especially maritime logistics is one of the man prerequisites for boosting trade with African states.
--MMA Federation Welcomes Holding Asian, Int’l Contests in Kish
Director of Development for the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Andrew Mashanov in a meeting with chairman of Iran’s Martial Arts Associations Federation Yousef Behtari, has underlined that the federation embraces hosting of international and Asian competitions by Iran’s Kish Island.
In a meeting with sport authorities of Kish Island, Mashanov said that the IMMAF calls on governments to support and develop the sport disciplines, and that Iran enjoys capabilities and equipment to promote the mixed martial arts.

-- Photo exhibit representing love of Imam Reza (AS) underway in Tehran
A photo exhibition opened last Tuesday in Tehran to showcase photos of the shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Imam of the Shia. The Mehrsun Complex is organizing the exhibit to celebrate the birthday of Imam Reza (AS), which falls this year on June 11.
Entitled “Affection for the Eight”, the exhibition is putting on view 75 photographs depicting pilgrims visiting the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) and scenes from the beauty of the religious site.

-- Tehran, Beijing consider joint exhibits of ancient relics
Iran and China consider plans to hold joint exhibitions of their historical relics. The National Museum of Iran is set to hold an exhibition of ancient cultural heritage in Beijing, ISNA quoted the museum director Jebrael Nokandeh as saying on Friday.
“We have entered negotiations with a number of Chinees museums, however, the host museum has not been determined yet,” Nokandeh said.
