Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi conveyed his congratulations to Rezaei in a message on Monday, pointing to his years of experience in defense, security, and management fields as relevant to his new responsibilities.
Araghchi said Rezaei’s appointment as the top security official reflected confidence in his background and experience in dealing with complex strategic issues facing the country.
“This experience, under the current high-risk conditions and within a rapidly changing environment, is considered a valuable asset for fulfilling this important role,” Araghchi said in his message.
The foreign minister also underlined the importance of cooperation between diplomatic and security institutions.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as in the past, within the framework of the Islamic establishment’s overall policies and in close coordination with the Supreme National Security Council, will use all diplomatic capacities of the country to advance national interests, strengthen the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and ensure and consolidate the country’s sustainable security,” he said.
Araghchi concluded his message by wishing Rezaei success in his new position and in efforts to serve the Iranian people and protect the country’s national interests.
